This module aims to give you the essential information you will need to understand the Young Leader scheme and support Explorer Scout Young Leaders.

By the end of this module, you will be able to: 

■ understand who can be an Explorer Scout Young Leader

■ understand who can help as a Young Leader through DofE and Girlguiding

■ know the best practice guidelines when working with young leaders

■ understand how the Young Leader scheme works including the training and awards available

■ describe how you can help Young Leaders to get the most out of their placement

■ know what additional support is available to you and Young Leaders
